Out There

A difficult day
a difficult time
but it's time to peel the onion
and see if I can make parfait
(that's a little joke for all of the Shrek fans out there)

Don't Do It

Again
I was reminded
yesterday
of what is still
only just below the surface
of so many of us
who have lost
and who know
and accept
with their heads
that the end has come
and has also now gone
but in their hearts
and in their dreams
they still don't accept it
and that is still causing
so much pain.

I don't believe
there is a single person
in the whole
broad
circle
who isn't feeling the same way.

And in each one
there are so may lessons learned
and we all know
so much more
about who we are
and about what we want
and almost as importantly
about what we don't want
and we know there are things
that we can do
but somehow
we just don't do them.

This is the way with so many aspects of our lives

and it makes me confused
because I can't understand
how we know what to do
but we still don't do it.
